Write a letter to the Oregon Board of Forestry about the importance of the scientific management and preservation of our forests:
Dear Oregon Board of Forestry, As a Lane County middle schooler at ____________, I am writing to you about your plans to change Oregon’s Forest Management Plans. I believe that the conservation of old forests is important because… After spending the day at the H. J. Andrews Experimental forest, I’ve learned.... Please maintain the role of scientific input in the management of Oregon’s forests and preserve these wildlands for myself and future generations. Write a letter to the Director of Willamette National Forest about maintaining funding for HJ andrews:

Hardesty Trail:
7.7 miles east on Highway 58 from the City of Lowell junction
to the Hardesty Mountain Trailhead, which is located on the
right side (south) of the highway (Highway 58 Milepost 20.7).
Moderate to advanced difficulty, snow in winter/spring.
6 mile hike from trailhead to summit

to the Hardesty Mountain Trailhead, which is located on the
right side (south) of the highway (Highway 58 Milepost 20.7).

Mt. Pisgah:
Take 30th Avenue past Lane Community College. Cross the
freeway overpass and turn left at the blinking stoplight. Turn
right after the Shell Station on to East Franklin Blvd. Follow this
road about 1/3 mile. Take the first left onto Seavey Loop Road. Continue straight 2 miles to the Arboretum. Beginner to Moderate difficulty.
